The purpose of the organization is to maintain an association of persons and organizations interested in libraries and to cooperate with the Fairfax County Public Library in developing public library services and facilities for the Pohick region.

The Friends supports the Pohick Regional Library by funding programs and equipment to supplement and enhance the library’s usefulness to the community. Among our enhancements are:

Support for Children’s, Young Adult and Adult Programming
Scholarship Funds for undergraduate and graduate students and staff development
Equipment for the Maker Room
Funding additional periodicals for the collection
Memory Maker machine
Additional books for the Summer Reading Program
Funding for Fairfax Library Foundation programs
Funding for Fall for the Book author events
Technology support
Membership

Membership is open to all who support the purpose of the group.
Individual or family membership: $10.00
Student Membership: $2.00
Lifetime Membership (per person): $50.00

Friends of the Pohick Regional Library sponsor an ongoing book sale daily during all open hours. Large book sales are held in the Spring and Fall. Check here for all book sales.

Donation Process

Thank you for your interest in donating to the Friends of the Pohick Library.

We accept adult and children’s:

Books: hardbacks and paperbacks, including vintage books, that are in good saleable condition;CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, and vinyl records; Magazines no more than one year old.

We cannot accept: encyclopedias, large quantities of National Geographic magazines, Reader’s Digest condensed books and materials in poor condition (underlined, torn, or with water or mildew damage).

Donations can be made during library hours. Receipts for tax purposes are available. All sales of your donations support and enhance the programs of Pohick Regional Library and provide funding for library programs and materials countywide.
