Summer Cocktails to Sip & Share

Cool drinks, long evenings, and a little grown-up fun.

Let’s be honest: after a long day of sun, splash pads, and summer schedules, the adults deserve something refreshing too! Whether you’re hosting neighbors, toasting a backyard BBQ, or just unwinding on the porch after bedtime routines, these easy summer cocktails will help you make the most of the season.

Here are five breezy, crowd-pleasing drinks that taste like summer in a glass:

1. Strawberry Basil Smash

A fruity herb-forward cocktail that feels like a garden party.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz gin or vodka
  • 3–4 fresh strawberries
  • 2–3 basil leaves
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • Club soda

Instructions:
Muddle strawberries and basil with lemon juice and syrup. Add spirit, shake with ice, and strain into a glass. Top with soda and a basil garnish.

2. Pineapple Mojito

A tropical twist on the classic.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz white rum
  • ½ oz lime juice
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • Club soda

Instructions:
Muddle mint with syrup and lime. Add rum and pineapple juice, shake and pour over ice. Top with soda and a mint sprig.

3. Porch Pounder (White Peach Sangria)

A pitcher-perfect drink for weekend brunches or dinner parties.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle chilled white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
  • ½ cup peach schnapps
  • 1–2 sliced peaches
  • ½ cup sliced strawberries
  • Sparkling water (optional for fizz)

Instructions:
Mix wine, schnapps, and fruit in a pitcher. Chill 1–2 hours, then pour over ice and top with bubbles if you like.

4. Spicy Watermelon Margarita

Sweet, smoky, and a little sassy.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz triple sec
  • 3 oz watermelon juice (fresh blended is best)
  • Jalapeño slices for kick
  • Tajín for rim (optional)

Instructions:
Shake all ingredients with ice. Rim glass with Tajín, pour over ice, and garnish with a lime wedge and a jalapeño slice.

5. Lavender Blueberry Fizz

For when you’re feeling a little fancy.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz vodka or gin
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • ½ oz lavender syrup
  • Handful of blueberries
  • Sparkling water

Instructions:
Muddle blueberries, shake with lemon juice, syrup, and vodka. Strain into glass, top with sparkling water and a sprig of lavender (or mint).

Hosting Tips:

✔ Make a batch cocktail in a pitcher for easy refills
✔ Freeze fruit chunks for ice that doesn’t water drinks down
✔ Keep a mocktail version available for non-drinkers or parents-on-duty
✔ Add festive paper straws or garnish bars for extra flair

So pour a glass, raise it high, and toast to long summer nights, clinking glasses, and well-earned relaxation. You’ve earned it.

Cheers to summer—grown-up style! 🍋
